REVIEW POLICY

ME, MY SHELF AND I REVIEW POLICY
We accept books that have already been published, ARCs, and e-books only in .epub (Adobe Digital Edition) and PDF format only. However, hard/bound copies are usually best.

Reviews will only be considered in e-mail form. If you want us to consider your novel please take the time to send us a note including information on your book.

WHEN MAILING PHYSICAL COPIES: please add a delivery confirmation number if you are mailing through the United States Post Office or ship through UPS who insures all their items. This is strongly encouraged, as there has been some post office issues lately and this is the only way to guarantee avoiding them. We are not responsable for lost or damaged items.
As for Independently published books, we only accept selective titles in .epub format only. Hard copies would be more convenient as well.

At MMSAI we make it a point o only accept the books we know we will have time to read, but our accepting the book does not guarantee we will complete the review, even if a specific review date/time frame is given.
You will read the review when it goes up on the blog, we do not provide it to the author/publisher before hand. Once the review is up, it will stay up and not be changed unless there is an error in information pertaining to date/release /pages/author/quoted content and such. Our personal views remain as posted.

REVIEWERS
MMSAI has 2 full time reviewers, and 1 part time reviewers currently working on the blog. Meet them on the About/Contact Page. Also, we are expanding to reach the youth and spark the desire to read and write.

REVIEW REQUESTS & CONSIDERATION:
We require all request for reviews be submitted in e-mail form to the main MMSAI e-mail address.
Any requests sent through Facebook/Twitter or other forms will be ignored.

We require this because we have 3 reviewers who have to be able to look over the review. Each review is considered individually by each reviewer.
Acceptance is based on (but not limited to) that reviewers: reading schedule, personal schedule, if the offered book interests them, topic, genre and so forth. We accept reviews in quite the same way you might pick a book at the library or store.

GENRES WE READ
We prefer and are more likely to accept books in the Young Adult and Middle Grade genre. However, we have been known to take General and Adult fiction from time to time, but on a very very limited basis.

REVIEW SYSTEM
Our reviews will always include the books specs at the top with a short blurb about it and it's cover, as well as links to the authors website and various media pages. If there is anything else you would like us to add, please let us know and I will be happy to comply.

Our personal review will be 100% honest and directed towards the average reader. They will also be specific to the reviewer who read the book and does not necessarily mean the rest of the team feels the same way.
We do not stress over the misplacement of a comma or small grammar issues. We are not editors, we are reviewers. There are certain cases where grammar and punctuation has led to to the book being impossible to enjoy and in those cases we will comment on the topic. However our main goal is to help the public understand how we felt about the book, where it took us and what it made us feel.

We review the way we want to read reviews. We don't want regurgitated information we can find by reading the blurb. And so you will not find that here. Aside from the content with in the pages we will often comment on the covers and then assign the book an over all rating using the system below.
We strive to be a spoiler free blog.

RATING SYSTEM
  • 5 birds (More Than Loved It) This became one of my favorites, I will recommend it to every one who will listen and will read it over and over.
  • 4 to 4.5 birds (Great Story) Loved it! It earned a it's spot on my shelf/Nook
  • 3 to 3.5 birds (Good Story) It was a good. I enjoyed it enough to say it was worth the time to read it, but it had it's good points and bad.
  • 2 to 2.5 birds (Meh, It Was Alright) Overall, the book was lacking. I wouldn't recommend this book.
  • 1 bird (Ugh, It was Terrible) Terribly Lacking. Not worth Reading at all.
  • DNF  (Did Not Finish) This is highly unusual to find but in some cases I can not even finish a book because it is lacking so much. I know this may seen rude, but with so many other books waiting for my attention I can't justify slowly plowing through a 1 Bird or lower novel. I will still post that I didn't finish it and state why. The book will receive no other rating from me.
POSTING OF REVIEW
Unless specified by the publisher, a review of a book will go up as soon as the calendar allows (in general between 2 weeks and 3 months). If the book is still several months from being published, in this case I will hold off until closer to the release date to post
Our reviews are also posted on my Goodreads account, as well as shared on Twitter and Facebook. I am happy to post my review elsewhere if you just give me the proper information to complete the task.
