What if the world's worst serial killer...was your dad?
Jasper "Jazz" Dent is a likable teenager. A charmer, one might say.
But he's also the son of the world's most infamous serial killer, and for Dear Old Dad, Take Your Son to Work Day was year-round. Jazz has witnessed crime scenes the way cops wish they could—from the criminal's point of view.
And now bodies are piling up in Lobo's Nod.
In an effort to clear his name, Jazz joins the police in a hunt for a new serial killer. But Jazz has a secret—could he be more like his father than anyone knows?
It’s not unknown to those close to me, that I have a real obsession with crime. All kinds. The fiction sort we watch on TV, like CSI, Criminal Minds and Law & Order. I also like the true crime sort, books about it, 60 Minutes episodes about it, movies about it. It fascinates me, it scares me and it keeps me in my house and a close eye on my children.
This book takes all of those things, all my favorite heart wrenching, bloody, twisted, most feared things and puts them into one of my only other favorite things in the world – Young Adult Fiction.
Lyga perfectly captures the mystery, horror and detail one would expect in a book about the son of the worlds greatest serial killer. Jasper “Jazz” Dent is relatable and real, and sometimes himself is just downright scary. The seed of the serial killer is there, in Jasper. It lingers, making itself known just enough to leave you wondering if this series will come to an end with Jasper and his father walking off into the deep red sunset, toting bloodied weapons and evil grins.
In I HUNT KILLERS Jasper is trying to prove that it’s not his whole family that’s crazy by helping local law enforcement solve a series of murders. After all if it’s one thing Jasper knows better than any one, even at the tender age of 16, it’s the inner working s of serial killers. Always flanked by his sidekicks, hemophiliac best friend Howie and thick skinned girlfriend Connie, Jasper is ready to take on whoever is mimicking his father’s first kills. Well, just as soon as he get’s his “one fry short of a happy meal” grandmother sorted out and to bed.
I HUNT KILLERS will keep you turning pages for the duration. Never lacking in action, this mystery will keep you guessing until the end. And even when you feel like you have been satisfied with knowing who dunnit, Lyga will throw you more questions to leave you desperate for the sequel: GAME out April 2013.
