Today we welcome WHATS LEFT OF ME Author Kat Zhang!
Kat’s been kind enough to answer some fun This or That questions, which for those of you who are unfamiliar with the game, is simple. I give her two options, she picks one. See, simple? Based on, especially her first answer, I think that Kat and I could be really, really good friends and may actually have been separated at birth! *Kat call me, I have a great story about me and 4 inch heels walking in LA last spring!!*
Heels or Flats
Wedge heels, haha. I like to have a little height in my shoes, but I'm a bit of a klutz at times (currently the only person I know who falls going *up* stairs on any regular basis), so thin heels are a no-go.
Root Beer or Orange Soda
Both!! I love bubbly/carbonated drinks of all kinds, which is terrible for my teeth, I'm sure, but...
I've loved Root Beer ever since learning at around age 6 that it does *not* actually contain beer of any sort and was thus okay for little-me to drink ;)
Peeta or Gale
Oh, the question of the ages, right? :P Though, to be honest, I was never terribly invested in the whole debate! I'm Team Katniss all the way! (or maybe Team Buttercup, because that was one badass cat)
Summer or Fall
Fall. I've lived in the South most of my life, and summers are sweltering/miserable. Fall is nice and cool and pretty with all the turning leaves :)
Roar Trip or Flying to your Destination
If I'm going with friends, then road trip all the way!
Checkers or Chess
I've never been a huge fan of either, though I used to play a lot of checkers. They're both relatively slow-moving games, and I am known to have a very, very short attention sp--
Reading or Writing
There isn't one I always like more than the other. Some days, I can't get into any book at all, but I'm dying to write. Other days, I can't get myself to write anything, and I just want to read :)
Forks or Spoons
Spoons! Sporks?
Stand Alone or Trilogy
I love a trilogy whose first book can act like a standalone :)
Pink or Purple?
Purple!
Dr. Who or Star Wars
Dr. Who! :D
Coffee or Tea
I love coffee-flavored things. I generally only drink it when I'm pulling an all-nighter to study for a test/meet a deadline/get that homework done, though.
Chocolate or Caramel
Hmmm...chocolate, I guess. I haven't much of a sweet tooth, though :P
Roller Coaster or Ferris Wheel
Roller coaster--but barely. Most of them just make me dizzy. I've always found ferris wheels rather boring, though :)
Horror Movie or Comedy
Comedy! I'm a total wimp when it comes to horror movies.
Thanks for inviting me on your blog!

What's Left of Me tells the story of a fifteen-year-old girl fighting for her right to survive in a world where two souls are born into each body and one is doomed to disappear. Pitched as The Golden Compass meets Girl, Interrupted.
Eva and Addie started out the same way as everyone else—two souls woven together in one body, taking turns controlling their movements as they learned how to walk, how to sing, how to dance. But as they grew, so did the worried whispers. Why aren’t they settling? Why isn’t one of them fading? The doctors ran tests, the neighbors shied away, and their parents begged for more time. Finally Addie was pronounced healthy and Eva was declared gone. Except, she wasn’t…
For the past three years, Eva has clung to the remnants of her life. Only Addie knows she’s still there, trapped inside their body. Then one day, they discover there may be a way for Eva to move again. The risks are unimaginable–hybrids are considered a threat to society, so if they are caught, Addie and Eva will be locked away with the others. And yet…for a chance to smile, to twirl, to speak, Eva will do anything.
WHAT’S LEFT OF ME will be on shelves 9/18 but you can add it to your To Be Read pile now by clicking the book cover above!

Team Buttercup! LOL I love that. I agree about so much but especially road trips with friends. They are the best! Thanks for sharing the interview. :)
ReplyDelete~Sara @ Forever 17 Books
Well hello to a fellow Team Katniss member. Yup Buttercup is bad ass. Especially in the last book. I've been waiting for What's Left of Me with bated breath. So excited it's nearly out. I'm a flats girl but I'm willing to go wedge. Thin heels are a no, no, for me too. I read a lot of trilogies but stand alones are my fave. This interview was great. Thanks for coming by Kat.
ReplyDelete"I love a trilogy whose first book can act like a standalone :)" That is definitely an amazing answer! I'm also Team Katniss; I never felt anything for the whole debate. Great interview, thanks for sharing! I love to get to know authors :)
