The sky is dark with wings . . . .
Like sand in an hourglass, time is running out for Luce and Daniel. To stop Lucifer from erasing the past they must find the place where the angels fell to earth. Dark forces are after them, and Daniel doesn’t know if he can do this—live only to lose Luce again and again.
Yet together they will face an epic battle that will end with lifeless bodies . . . and angel dust. Great sacrifices are made. Hearts are destroyed. And suddenly Luce knows what must happen.
For she was meant to be with someone other than Daniel. The curse they’ve borne has always and only been about her—and the love she cast aside. The choice she makes now will be the only one that truly matters.
In the fight for Luce, who will win?
The astonishing conclusion to the FALLEN series. Heaven can’t wait any longer.
Two months before release, RAPTURE sat on my desk it’s beautiful cover staring at me day after day. Read me Amber. The ARC’s began to pile up, as they sometime do and in an effort to move through some I took 5 to my cabin where I am notorious for reading one book a day. I saved RAPTURE for last, knowing that once I read it, once I opened it there was no turning back. It was the end of Luce and Daniel and I couldn't do it. Read me, you need to read me.
June came and went, RAPTURE adorned the shelves of every store I entered, mocking me until finally last night I gave in. I picked it up and began to read. I prepared myself for the inevitable good-bye I would be required to deliver to fictional characters that I over time, had come to think of as friends.
So I have separation issues, what of it?
RAPTURE was, as I thought it would be, impossible to put down. At times it reminded me of Dan Brown’s Angels and Demons as Daniel, Luce and friends frantically search the world for artifacts they need. And at one point I even had that What Dreams May Come feeling wash over me.
RAPTURE is masterfully created, this world of Angels and Heaven will (no pun intended) unfold before you in only a way that Lauren Kate could bring it. I’ve never been much of a fan of Angel books in the past, but truly this is so much more than just an angel book, it’s a heartbreaking, breathtaking, time transcending love story that just happens to have angels in it.
The ending had a little of what I expected all along and a whole lot of what I didn’t. Twists, turns, action, adventure, love and battles. I can’t think of one thing that this book doesn’t have. Alright, it doesn’t have puppies but when you have hot angels and a love story to shake you at your core, who needs puppies?
5 Birds all the way, finally I have found a final book in a series that I love as much as I did it’s beginning. What can I say, I’m a “firsts” girl. Maybe that’s why I love the story of Luce and Daniel so much
*Thank you to my friends at Random House for providing me the ARC!
