Vampire Born #1
Author: Angeline Kace

Rating: 3 Birds

Brooke Keller is a high school junior who has never spent much time living in one place. She is finally in a town long enough to almost snag the boy of her dreams, until her life is threatened after killing a fanged man in his attempt to kidnap her. Brooke begins a dangerous journey in an effort to find out who is after her and how to stop them. In a world with powerful and prejudiced vampires, Brooke must tap into the side of her that she never knew existed at the risk of losing her life in order to save it

Descended by Blood has a strong cast of character's, and a great heroine, Brooke. Taking place in modern day we follow Brooke through life, boys, school and the fact she found out she’s a vampire apparently people want dead.

You definitely get a lot of action and I applaud Kace on the back stories she built to make her characters all the more solid, I think this is always really important in novels and sometimes get’s over looked or isn’t handled well in some.

Now, people not fans of love triangles beware – this could change your mind. Kace keeps things fun with Jaren and Mirko. I know I really have a hard time picking a team – check out what the boys look like HERE Even still, I can’t decide…maybe I’ll just be on both Teams..*wink*

All that wonderfulness said, I did feel like some parts of the book ran parallel to several other novels I had read. I would just suddenly go “This reminds me of….” I would prepare yourself for a little bit of this when you pick the book up.

I definitely think this book is worth grabbing when you have a hankering for a Vampire read. And since you can get it on Amazon for .99, I would ask what you’re waiting for!
