{Follow Friday} 1 & {Helpful Baby Friday} 4

By: Me My Shelf And I | 15 April 2011 at 7:15 AM | |
So I have been seeing this hop for some time and wanted to participate, but the lack of brain function in the morning which is when I tend to set up my posts lead me to believe it was far too complicated and I always passed on it.

This week however, I will do no such thing. I will be smarter then the Hop and weather I do it right or wrong I am doing it. Here's where I get confused....do I answer the asked question on my blog, or repost what the featured blog listed on Parajunkees View said??? Since I don't know and hopefully Prajunkee will stop in and fix my ways, I will answer it myself today.

Do you have any one to talk about books with IRL? Tell us about him/her
I do, I have several in fact. I'm going to start with the most unwilling member of this group though - my husband. The poor guy finds himself having to listen to complicated plot scenarios or bits of stories I find funny that he doesn't understand, basically on a daily basis. He always smiles and nods and acts like he cares when really he just wants me to shut up and go back to the book because he hasn't a clue what I'm talking about. LOL. Poor guy.

Luckily enough for him, I also have my book club so when that day of the month rolls around he is off the hook. The Book Fluffers meets once a month at a different Fluffers house each time. Depending on who is hosting we can be somewhere between Minnesota and Wisconsin.

We are, what I like to call a book club of over achievers...we don't read just one book for our meetings, no no, we read entire series. Our first meeting was The Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead to corolate with the release of the final book and an author appearance at the Mall of America. And next month our book series is the Black Dagger Brotherhood by JR Ward, of which there is 9!

We communicate through out the month with a FB page, and do most everything as a group. We were after all mostly a big group because we're not just a book club we were all friends before this!

Adding to the end here is my

Helpful Baby Friday
Hosted by SM Reine to find humor in all those little things that happen through the week that make writing, blogging and being a mom interesting.
You can be a mom to a husband (hehe) a fur-baby, a pet rock - anything!

This week Little E didn't do anything particularly "helpful" other then her normal shenanigans. But just so you know I don't keep her locked in the house learning all her letters from PBS every day - I wanted to share a photo of her outside! (gasp!)

Again, nevermind the poor quality....it's my iPhone I was using...seems to be the one thing I always have handy.

  1. My mom and my sister both love books so I am lucky there, but normally not the same ones as me. My mom isn't a really big YA fan! I really want to join a book club. I am going to have to find one in my area! :)

  3. My husband also listens to all my silly parts or "exciting" parts even though it doesn't have the same effect on him since he doesn't know what's going on, but he's so sweet about it! I heart him so much lol. :)

  11. Yeah, I'm grateful, because my boyfriend does the same! He doesn't really get too much of what I'm trying to tell him, but he's at least trying to listen. I also have a friend to talk to, but she basically hates what I read. Lol. Still listens when I need her though!

New follower! My FF can be found here!

  13. I'm a new follower, over from the FF post. Glad to see you participating. I live in such a small town that I am honestly not sure if there are any true book clubs around - you're so lucky!

I saw you mentioning Richelle Mead. I'm a huge Mead fan, and I'm sure we have other authors in common.

Please feel free to check out my FF post if you wish! :)
