{In My Mailbox} March 27th

By: Me My Shelf And I | 27 March 2011 at 8:09 AM |
In My Mailbox is a weekly meme, hosted by The Story Siren, held usually on Sundays that encourages bloggers to share what they bought, borrowed, or begged for this week.

To participate in IMM just head to your blog and let us know what you bought, begged or borrowed this week. The come back here and leave me a link in my comments so I ca
n check it out too!

Actually Arrived In My Mailbox :0)

These books arrived at the beginning and the end of my week. They are my first official physical copies of ARCS, and I won them both from various book blogs.
I had already read Delirium, and devoured Wither in a few hours after it arrived! Click below for the reviews I posted about them.

On "Mah Nookie" I got:

Released by Megan Duncan (which I am currently reading)

After a demon apocalypse kills their parents and everyone they know, 17-year old Abby Phillips, her brother, Carter, and friend, Max flee their home to travel through what has become the wastelands of America. When radio transmissions of a resistance offering shelter and safety cease, Abby is tempted to give up. Struggling to overcome life-threatening obstacles in their dangerous journey, Abby and her companions quickly discover there are much worse things lurking in the dark then they could have ever imagined.

The Near Witch by Victoria Schwab

The Near Witch is only an old story told to frighten children.
If the wind calls at night, you must not listen. The wind is lonely, and always looking for company. And there are no strangers in the town of Near.
These are the truths that Lexi has heard all her life.
But when an actual stranger—a boy who seems to fade like smoke—appears outside her home on the moor at night, she knows that at least one of these sayings is no longer true.
The next night, the children of Near start disappearing from their beds, and the mysterious boy falls under suspicion. Still, he insists on helping Lexi search for them. Something tells her she can trust him.
As the hunt for the children intensifies, so does Lexi’s need to know—about the witch that just might be more than a bedtime story, about the wind that seems to speak through the walls at night, and about the history of this nameless boy.
Part fairy tale, part love story, Victoria Schwab’s debut novel is entirely original yet achingly familiar: a song you heard long ago, a whisper carried by the wind, and a dream you won’t soon forget.

And I have, more asked then begged for:
(Oh, who am I kidding I did kind of beg...lol. Maybe I'll get lucky and get to read them early)

  4. Hey! Thanks for following, I'm gonna follow you also. I really love the way you set up this blog, it's soo neat and organized!
I read your review of Delirium, and although I loved it, I can see where you're coming from about Lena's constant PMSing. It was quite annoying how she would change her mind so quickly.
About your IMM: The Near Witch and The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer sound really great :D

  10. @Leanne_luce - thanks for the follow! :0) I am a total cover snob, I love beautiful covers and sadly judge by them sometimes though I am getting better.

@ComaCalm - I was shocked to see this cover too when I got the book. I like it though!

Thanks everyone for stopping in and commenting! It means so much to me!
